GK FOODS, a Division of GraceKennedy Limited, is seeking to recruit a HR Officer to join its team of HR Practitioners, with assigned responsibilities to Grace Food Processors (Canning), Dairy Industries (Jamaica) Ltd and National Processors Divisions. Reporting to the Human Resource Manager – Manufacturing, the successful candidate should possess the following:

 

Special Requirements and Key Competencies:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in the field of Human Resources Development at a similar level
  • Working knowledge of HR Software Applications
  • Knowledge of Employment/Labour Laws
  • Knowledge of the Manufacturing sector and Food Safety Management Systems would be an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong ethical values and confidentiality
  • High level of initiative and reliability
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment and selection of high quality staff in collaboration with Business Unit Managers.
  • Provide support in implementing effective succession planning, training and development initiatives.
  • Provide support, guidance and counsel to employees on technical and career development activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of induction/orientation, and reward and recognition programmes.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programmes and ensure all personnel related processing are effectively completed for employees.
  • HRMIS administration and payroll verification
