Truck Driver Job Description

We are looking for a licensed Truck Driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods and other articles of trade to our customers. We specialize in medical waste, working directly with the medical institutions to keep them in compliance. You will be tasked with driving and maintaining the truck that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our team in order to plan routes and track deliveries. 

A 10 ton or higher commercial driver’s license is required. Successful candidates must have a clean driving record and required to present a Police Record.

Truck Driver Responsibilities:

• Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
• Manages assigned routes ensuring clients' waste is picked up on time.
• Follows daily given route sheets by the Supervisor.
• Prepare and load trucks to service select clients for the day.
• Pick up waste from each client site scheduled for the day.
• Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating the vehicle. 
• Refuel and clean vehicle.
• Report road incidents to the dispatcher.
• Follow traffic laws.
• Inspect trucks and record issues.
• Follow accident procedures.
• Keep an activity log and log hours.
• Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
• Plan routes using GPS system.
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
• Keep commercial driver license up to date.

Truck Driver Requirements:

• 10 ton or higher commercial driver’s license.
• Must have at least two years’ experience.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.
• Must have clean driving record.
• Physical strength and ability to life up to 70 pounds.
• Good verbal communication.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
