FactoriesCorporation of Jamaica invites applications from suitablyqualified persons to fill the position of ExecutiveAssistant.

 

JobSummary:

  • Provide an efficient and effective executive/administrative support to the Managing Director

  • Co-ordinate and/or perform administrative tasks necessary for the smooth functioning of the office

  • Serve as a central point liaison with internal and external clients

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, effective and efficient record management programme

  • Research and obtain information to create, compose and edit technical and/or administrative correspondences and documentation.

  • Maintain an efficient information flow

Applicantshould have:

(a)Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration or the Social Sciences

  • Certified Administrative Professional or training in Administrative Management

Plus:

  • Certified Professional Secretary

(b)Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years administrative related experience

  • Experience in dealing with matters of a confidential and sensitive nature

SpecialSkills and Aptitude:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience administrative and secretarial functions

  • Good report writing techniques

  • Ability to display diplomacy, good reasoning power and judgement

  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheet applications and the internet

  • Proficiency in records management practices and techniques

  • Proficiency in Office Procedures and use office equipment and advanced technology

  • Knowledge of how government operates and its protocols

  • Good knowledge of formal meeting protocol and minutes taking

  • Good time management skills

  • Excellent shorthand skills of 120 w.p.m. and typing skills of 60 w.p.m.

  • Good planning and organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously carry out large volume of tasks

  • Strong sense of confidentiality and objectivity
