Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:

ACCOUNTING OFFICER - PAYROLLS

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Operates the payroll system and checks system generated reports for accuracy
  • Prepares journals, cheque vouchers and cheques, and obtain approval by authorized signatories
  • Ensures deduction and payment of all statutory and voluntary deductions/contributions on a timely basis
  • Ensures annual and other statutory returns and certificates are prepared, checked and filed/disseminated on a timely basis
  • Maintains all sub-ledgers impacted by payrolls (staff loans, motor vehicle loans and insurance, etc) and reconcile with Control Accounts on a timely basis

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Accounting or equivalent from a post-secondary institution
  • Working knowledge of payrolls and related legislation (Income Tax Act, Employment Regulations, etc)
  • Working knowledge of Turbopay, Sage ERP, or similar software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • At least three (3) years work related experience.
