Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:
ACCOUNTING OFFICER - PAYROLLS
Key Responsibilities:
Operates the payroll system and checks system generated reports for accuracy
Prepares journals, cheque vouchers and cheques, and obtain approval by authorized signatories
Ensures deduction and payment of all statutory and voluntary deductions/contributions on a timely basis
Ensures annual and other statutory returns and certificates are prepared, checked and filed/disseminated on a timely basis
Maintains all sub-ledgers impacted by payrolls (staff loans, motor vehicle loans and insurance, etc) and reconcile with Control Accounts on a timely basis
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Accounting or equivalent from a post-secondary institution
Working knowledge of payrolls and related legislation (Income Tax Act, Employment Regulations, etc)
Working knowledge of Turbopay, Sage ERP, or similar software and Microsoft Office Suite
Good communication and interpersonal skills
At least three (3) years work related experience.
