Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting/Finance Department at the Halse Hall, Clarendon location.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, this position is accountable for:

  • Facilitating the maintenance of an invoice approval and payment system with all the controls necessary to prevent fraud as well as controlling and safeguarding the company’s funds from unauthorized disbursement while paying vendors on time;
  • The timely and accurate processing of invoices to facilitate payments on due dates. This is necessary for the maintenance of accurate forecasting and cash management;
  • Liaising with Procurement and other internal and external customers to resolve vendor and invoice payment issues and ensuring timely payments of vendor invoices;
  • Participating in general ledger closing activities necessary to provide management with monthly financial information;
  • Maintaining a filing system to facilitate the easy retrieval of approved invoice batches, to assist with the auditing of the accounting systems and provide details for reconciliation of relevant account balances.

Qualification and Experience

To be considered you must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Management Studies or other related discipline;
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in Accounting related field;
  • Knowledge of computer based applications (Oracle Fusion) Accounting, Purchasing and maintenance systems is required;
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills;
